Medical Qigong Therapist (MQT)

The program consists of 160 hours of direct in person instruction with Dr. Shannon over five 5-day intensive seminars which are held every other month, along with Additional Requirements that are to be completed outside of class.

Program Overview

Students continue to deepen their knowledge and expertise in Medical Qigong treatments by learning advanced assessment skills, learning several methods of doing remote or distance work, and working with Qi deviations. Time is spent studying specialty areas such as integrating Medical Qigong into Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Neurology, Psychology and Oncology.

The level of detail and focus on all previous skillsets is refined and new exercises such as Qi Walking are taught.

At the end of this Program, students should expect to have greatly refined their skillsets, their level of focus, and their ability to teach qigong to clients or groups of individuals. Students can now begin working with remote clients, and should be able to modify Qigong exercises or protocols so that they can be used by clients with a wider range of health issues.

Students are required to have taken the Medical Qigong Practitioner seminars before they begin this program.

Exams within this program will include written, oral, and practical examinations plus skillset competencies. There are also Additional Requirements for this program that are to be completed outside of class.

Students will have access to MQT online courses for 90 days past the last day of T5., for those who want ongoing access Click here.

This program is designed to be completed within one year. Students who are unable to complete the requirements within the year of enrollment have an additional 12 months after their last Seminar to complete any program requirements. At the end of that time, students wishing to return for training or to submit Additional Requirements will need to file for an Extension or will consider to be withdrawn from the Program.
